So, I actually have been reading some stories and poems, which shocked me since I really can't keep to a schedule. Anyway, the short stories I read where from a collection of Japanese short stories and the ones I read so far are:
Sansho The Steward by Mori Ogai
The Third Night by Natsume Soseki
The Bonfire by Kunikida Doppo
Separate Ways by Higuchi Ichiyo
and The Peony Garden by Nagai Kafu.

The poems were by T.S. Eliot and Langston Hughes. Read the entirety of Prufrock, Gerontion, Burbank with a Baedecker: Bleistein with a Cigar, Sweeney Erect (which I think is about his penis, but I'm probably wrong) and A Cooking Egg.

Hughes poems were The Negro Speaks of Rivers, Aunt Sue's Stories, Negro and Danse Africaine.

I wonder how long I can keep this up?

comments

So, it's been a while since I updated this. It's just so much easier to update tumblr, since I only reblog or post pictures, so I forget about this. Also, school makes it hard to do stuff often. Anyway, I want to try something new. I realize me reading full novels is pretty much impossible right now, I don't know why. My head is just not into reading long stories that aren't fannish, I guess. So I decided to start small and just read one short story and one poem a day for however long. I'll be posting updates on my Goodreads account and I'll try to remember to do it here.

Also, I can't wait until Thanksgiving. I need a break from Organic Chemistry.

comments
